PCA for kids-under age 21
line

A Personal Care Assistant will work with your family and your child’s primary physician. We care for children, teens and young adults up to the age of 21. Our Personal Care Assistants are supervised by the New Discovery administrative staff and take feedback from family members.

We focus on providing care and assistance with:

  • Activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, grooming, hygiene and mobility)
  • Developmental health issues
  • Managing behavioral concerns (aggressiveness, destructiveness or the tendency to injure self)
  • Conducting planned activities (coaching session, learning new skills, socialization)

Though these services may appear common, the delivery of such services is not. It is important to consider how the patient and the Personal Care Assistant's personalities will match.

We understand the fragile situation of the children, teens and young adults that we care for and we make sure that they are comfortable with the PCA who is assigned to them. By being able to appreciate the patient we take care of and acknowledge the difficulties they face, we can give them the appropriate level of care and attention they need at home.
